Constructed in 1913, a 1990s renovation transformed the CLIFT Hotel's lobby into a surreal landscape of plaster walls, limestone floors and hand carved reception desk. A focal point of this renovation is a massive Louis XVI chair. In sharp contrast to the hotel's classic Italian Renaissance exterior, the CLIFT Hotel boasts an eclectic collection of modern furnishings and works by American and European artists. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily. Legend claims that the wood from a single California redwood comprises the walls of the Redwood Room, the hotel's renowned bar. The 30 foot ceilings, digital art, subdued lighting, and leather and velvet furnishings attract celebrities and local trendsetters.
