Hotel Description:
Location. Exuding a European ambiance and comprised of two early 20th century buildings in the shopping and financial districts of San Francisco, Calif., is the boutique Campton Place. This Travel + Leisure 500, Conde Nast Traveler Gold List and Conde Nast Top 100 award winning property adjoins Union Square and is positioned two blocks from the luxury shops on Maiden Lane, five blocks from Chinatown and six blocks from Nob Hill. Transportation by cable car is available one block from the property.
Hotel Features. Contemporary French cuisine made with fresh California ingredients is featured at Campton Place Restaurant. Highlights include tasting menus, seasonal menus including Dungeness Crab with Osetra Caviar and a wine list boasting 1,000 bottles. Campton Place Bar serves a bistro menu, fine wines by the glass and specialty cocktails through late evenings. Conference rooms, business services and high speed wired and wireless Internet access are provided. A 24 hour fitness terrace located on the 9th floor overlooks Union Square and hosts weight training and cardiovascular equipment.
Guestrooms. Designed by Sylvia Chiang, the 110 guestrooms and nine suites boast honey maple finished furnishings, leather accented desks, handblown glass bedside lamps and decor in tones of white, tan and cinnamon. Bedding includes Mascioni Egyptian cotton linens, down duvets and throw blankets. Limestone bathrooms offer Moulton Brown toiletries, slippers, soaking tubs, pearwood paneling and silver stenciled Maplewood armoires. Each includes Bose surround sound audio systems, CD players, cable television and high speed Internet access, and some rooms feature window seats and knitted Mascioni bathrobes. Pets are permitted for a fee.
Expert Tip. Approximately one mile from the hotel is an otherworldly theater of sound, the Audium. The audience is shrouded in darkness as a composition of "found sounds" travels about the room's 169 speakers. The effect is surreal, disorienting and mesmerizing.

Take 101 North to 80 East to the 4th Street exit.
At the base of the ramp, follow Bryant Street to 3rd Street.
Turn left onto 3rd Street.
Follow 3rd Street across Market Street, where it becomes Kearny.
Go straight on Kearny for two blocks.
Turn left onto Sutter Street.
Drive two blocks and turn left onto Stockton Street.
